- What topics will you cover?
Throughout the course, you will study each lesson. The lessons are divided into practice areas and advanced practice sections.
During Part 1 of the course you will study the following knowledge modules:
Chapter 1 – The values and principles of the UK
Chapter 2 – What is the UK?
Chapter 3 – A long and illustrious history
Chapter 4 – A modern, thriving society
Chapter 5 – The UK government, the law and your role
During Part 2 of the course you will begin the preparation for the IELTS Life Skills exam at B1 level.
This part is divided into 10 topic areas: personal details and experiences, weather, health, leisure, shopping, transport, family and friends, housing, education and work.
Throughout the units you will see Skills Builder sections and Exam Focus sections. The Skills Builder sections are designed to help you to focus on a specific language skill you will need to be successful at IELTS Life Skills exam, such as talking about past and future events, describing and comparing, suggesting and deciding and more.
In addition, you will study the IELTS Grammar section, which is divided in 26 advanced practice exercises to help you revise the grammar. You can analyse each question, one by one, and take advantage of the Hint button which will reveal detailed explanations for each of the grammar areas.
At the end of the IELTS Life Skills section, you will complete a mock exam which will consolidate your knowledge and give you a better understanding of what is required of the candidates during the exam.
